Ask anyone who has ever been in her presence and they will tell you that Samara Stone is no ordinary CEO. Her down-to-earth nature and soothing spirit are only maximized by the warmth of her smile. She is often fondly referred to as “the light in the room”. Her amazing spirit and resilience has guided her to the many achievements she so humbly claims.
Samara earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Hampton University in 1995. She followed that achievement with the attainment of a Master of Social Work Degree from University of Maryland, Baltimore in 1998. In 2001, she earned the title Licensed Certified Social Worker—Clinical. Armed with a wealth of knowledge and vast clinical experience, Samara proudly opened the doors of The Stone Foundation in 2005. Her mission was clear: establish a multi-dimensional, multi-cultural mental health agency that caters to the ever-evolving needs of individuals and families in the Baltimore/Metropolitan area. To date, The Stone Foundation has proudly served approximately three-thousand individuals and families.
One of Samara’s greatest gifts is her natural ability to inspire and motivate others toward the attainment of both their personal and professional goals. It is within that spirit that she has lent, and continues to lend, her clinical and business expertise through business mentoring, continuing education, and clinical supervision. Samara is formerly an adjunct professor at Morgan State University and maintained the position of Co-Chair to the Clinical Advisory Board for the MSW Program at Morgan State University for several years. Through The Stone Foundation’s MBE Certification, Samara maintains prominent partnerships with the Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks, Baltimore City Public School System, HEBCAC, Baltimore Mayor’s Office of Employment and Development, US Department of Labor, and Baltimore Mental Health Systems to name a few.
Aside from her many professional achievements, Samara receives her greatest joy from simply being a devoted and loving wife, mother, daughter, and friend.
