Natasha Peterson is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Maryland. She is a compassionate, nonjudgmental and caring professional who believes that everyone could benefit from counseling “because we all are impacted by various life experiences on a daily basis”. Natasha wholeheartedly believes that counseling assists with the healing process of overcoming obstacles and challenges while learning about our imperfect selves and finding healthy coping mechanisms to live our absolute best lives.
With over 10 years of experience in human services, Natasha lists her areas of expertise to include: intimate partner violence, sexual assault, trauma, child abuse and neglect, depression, anxiety, communication, self-esteem and anger management. She has acted in roles conducting mental health therapy, group facilitation, clinical case-management, service coordination, home visitation, supervision, program management and development and most recently as an assistant director of a multifaceted department encompassing several programs providing intensive supportive services. Natasha received her undergraduate degree from Hood College in Frederick, MD. After developing a desire to pursue a higher education in psychology, she earned her Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Phoenix followed by a Certificate of Advanced graduate Studies in counseling psychology from Loyola University Maryland.
Natasha’s goal is to facilitate a therapeutic alliance by building rapport, being supportive, being down-to-earth and meeting people where they are but aiding them in getting where they desire to be. She says, “ultimately my goal is to pull out those intrinsic motivators for change while acknowledging those extrinsic realities. I believe that you are the expert of your own life and therapy is a tool to help you be the best version of you while managing life experiences”.
On her personal time, she enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, volunteering and traveling.
