Kenya BrownMrs. Brown holds a Bachelors Degree in Social Work from Morgan State University and Masters from University of Maryland.  She spent the first seven years of her career working in private foster care conducting home studies, providing trainings to foster/adoptive parents, providing case management services to medically fragile children and therapeutic intervention to severely emotionally disturbed children and adolescents.  Currently Mrs. Brown works in a private high school as the Director of the Counseling Program.


Sara BrownMs. Brown holds a MSW degree and is licensed at the graduate level.  As a therapist, she is most interested in working with children, adolescents, and their families, although she enjoys working with adults as well. She has a particular interest in family therapy because she believes that the family is, generally, the most important factor in shaping an individual’s life. Sara’s greatest fulfillment as a therapist comes through helping people become liberated from their own limitations and the constrictions that they place upon themselves.  While she came into this field, looking to provide case management services, she has grown to appreciate providing services.  She truly enjoys working for The Stone Foundation.


Linda DarrellMs.Linda Darrell grew up on Long Island, New York. She completed her undergraduate education at The State University of New York at Stony Brook, where she graduated in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work. Linda worked at the Stony Brook University Hospital Center for 10 years. During her tenure at the University Hospital Ms. Darrell was instrumental in the opening of the Burn Center which is now a nationally recognized Burn facility.

Ms. Darrell moved to Richmond, Virginia in 1987 and worked for the Chippenham Hospital Center in Richmond as a Medical Social Worker for 9 years. During that time she completed her Masters Degree in Social Work at the Virginia CommonWealth University School of Social Work. As part of her Graduate education Linda completed a graduate internship in the Children’s Specialty Care Clinic at the Johns Hopkins Outpatient Center. In her capacity as a Social Work student intern Linda worked with children diagnosed with Sickle Cell disease, Diabetes and Cystic Fibrosis.

After completing her student internship Ms. Darrell accepted a full time position with the Johns Hopkins Liver Transplant Program. Ms. Darrell has worked for over ten years as the Clinical Social Worker for the Johns Hopkins Comprehensive Transplant Center. Ms. Darrell also works with Bladder and Prostate cancer patients in The Brady Urological Center at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and serves as Clinical Social Worker with the Palliative Care Consultation Team for Johns Hopkins Hospital Department of Medicine.

Ms. Darrell has completed a Post –Graduate Fellowship at Smith College in End of Life Care in 2001 and is currently pursing a PhD. in Clinical Social Work at the Smith School of Social Work. As part of her clinical externship for her doctorate degree Ms. Darrell is providing psychotherapeutic services  and Professional Development Training at The Stone Foundation in Towson Maryland.

Ms. Darrell is actively engaged in several Hospital Committees to include The Johns Hopkins Ethics Service. Ms. Darrell is committed to the education of future Social Workers and to that end she is the Coordinator for the Social Work Field Placement program for the Medical/Surgical Department of Social Work at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

In her position as the Social Worker for Liver Transplant, Ms. Darrell has helped to develop a Mentoring program for Liver transplant candidates. Ms. Darrell is also involved with the Department of Urology in the development of support services for Bladder Cancer patients. Ms. Darrell has presented at several National Conferences and has delivered numerous presentations; she also serves as the Leader of the Barnabas Ministry a bereavement ministry at The New Psalmist Baptist Church.

Ms. Darrell is an active member of her community and in her church. She is the mother of a married daughter and is a proud grandmother of two beautiful grandchildren.  Linda enjoys helping to empower people to take an active role in their health care choices and medical treatment.







Ms. Hatcher holds a Bachelors degree from Wilberforce University and a MSW degree from the University of South Carolina. Much of Ms. Hatcher’s experience involves working in the field of Domestic Violence, where she has worked with both Batterers & Survivors.  Ms. Hatcher believes that knowing how to maintain healthy families and intimate relationships are essential to the well being of society.   Ms. Hatcher has also worked with incarcerated juveniles and has advocated for Youth in the Foster Care system as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) Supervisor.  She has a passion for empowering people, helping them maintain personal accountability and assisting them in developing meaningful life goals.  At The Stone Foundation, Ms. Hatcher has developed curriculums for youth groups and provided clinical services for children, adolescents and adults.  




Marni Seyyid has served in various capacities at mental health, human services, advocacy and social service agencies throughout the state.  Ms. Seyyid is an experienced therapist, clinical supervisor, trainer, program evaluator, field instructor, social science research analyst and forensic social work investigator.

Ms. Seyyid has a Bachelors of Social work degree with a minor in Sociology from Morgan State University; a Masters of Social Work degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore; and is a Licensed Certified Social worker-Clinical in the State of Maryland.  Ms. Seyyid is a 2004 National Institutes of Mental Health-Minority Mental Health Research Scholar and a member of Morgan State University's inaugural cohort (recently entering the dissertation phase) of the PhD in Social Work Program.


Ms. Shannon holds a Masters in Science degree in Pastoral Counseling from Loyola College in Maryland and she is currently pursuing a PhD.  She is a former teacher and administrator with a great deal of experience with the developmental issues associated with adolescence and young adulthood.  She is also interested in the transitional challenges that older adults face including retirement, widowhood, and health.

Ms. Shannon has a desire to help others recover from trauma, grief and loss. She views counseling as a collaborative process where the therapist and the client work together to gain insights and create change. For her, counseling is a journey that two people take together to better cope with the difficulties that life can present.
 

Sheila L. SherrodMs. Sherrod has been in the field of Human Services for over a decade. She received her Bachelors of Science Degree in Rehabilitation Services Education from Pennsylvania State University. She then began working at an outpatient substance abuse program.  After that leaving that program she worked at a psychiatric rehabilitation program for three years. She provided behavior modification, crisis intervention, advocacy and an array of therapeutic services to children and families.
