Mrs. Evans has a passion for helping others, and is able to quickly establish relationships with her clients. Her strong desire to help those in need is why Mrs. Evans has worked in the mental health and education field for the past 12 years. During that time, she has had the opportunity to work with individuals at all developmental stages and with a variety of mental health needs; the wealth of her professional experience is with school-aged individuals ranging in age from 7-18.
Early on in her career Mrs. Evans taught Special Education. Following that experience she transitioned to working as a High School Counselor. During the majority of her career she has performed individual, group, and family counseling and has had extensive experience in establishing and/or facilitating large-scale, mental health programs aimed at increasing awareness, education and/or tolerance for mental health needs. Mrs. Evans currently works full time in facilitating the collaboration between students, families, school system employees, and community resources, in order to remove barriers from education.
In addition to her full time employment, Mrs. Evans has remained active in community-based mental health initiatives by working with clients in crisis through the local Crisis Response Team, as well as by providing ongoing individual and family therapy in a private practice setting.
Mrs. Evans believes in utilizing research-based theory when working with clients. This method empowers individuals in their decision making and in reframing their thought process.
