Dr. Shannon holds a Masters in Science degree in Pastoral Counseling from Loyola College in Maryland and a PhD. She is a former teacher and administrator with a great deal of experience with the developmental issues associated with adolescence and young adulthood. She is also interested in the transitional challenges that older adults face including retirement, widowhood, and health.
Dr. Shannon has a desire to help others recover from trauma, grief and loss. She views counseling as a collaborative process where the therapist and the client work together to gain insights and create change. For her, counseling is a journey that two people take together to better cope with the difficulties that life can present.
This Holiday Season, Dr. Shannon is hosting a special 5 Week Group "Chasing Away the Holiday Blues" This group begins November 12, 2015 and will be held Thursdays at 6:30pm. Join Dr. Shannon at The Stone Foundation's Main Office for a group that will support participants in managing holiday stressors and navigating complex family dynamics.
